Hemavan is one of the biggest ski resorts in Sweden offering a large number of downhill slopes. If you prefer cross country skiing, there are a number of tracks available. For more extreme adventures, you can make tours on the mountains but then you need good equipment in case of heavy snow fall, wind and poor sight that may sometimes take place very rapidly. There are also other ways to discover the Swedish mountains, for example with a snowmobile, or just by sitting in an outdoor hot tube looking at the view.
